What is Crossing Bridges?

Crossing Bridges is a non-profit  photography project that gathers photographers from different countries annually to discover and promote friendship and communications between photographers around Asia and beyond

It also aims to promote the understanding of the culture and people of each area that are highlighted each year

History of Crossing Bridges

In the early 2000s, we witnessed the growth in Internet, online forums and social media

Crossing Bridges began in 2004 when representatives from the online photography communities of the first 2 countries, Indonesia and Singapore , decided to meet in Jogjakarta, Indonesia

Both communities represented about 250,000 photographers from both countries.  A total of 30 photographers representing Indonesia and Singapore , gathered for 4 days of photography and friendship.

Over the next 20 years , Crossing Bridges has grown to now represent photographers from 10 different countries and still expanding.

Photography communities from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Australia have gathered for this annual festival of discovery and friendship
